Don't Look at Me!

Do not read the following!  It is absolutely and completely irrelevant to your life.  TRUST ME.

Okay, maybe it is.  Maybe.

I randomly decided to start up a little contest called the "Secret Link Trail".  I'm not really sure what this trail will be exactly, where the end of the trail will be, or when it will be.  I don't even know what all the rules will be.  I've made up some, but I'll make the rest up as I go along, just to make things more exciting.

However, the first person to achieve the currently unknown goal will win some currently unknown prize.  It'll be a cool prize, no doubt, but I just haven't decided what it will be.

So keep checking back here.  As time goes on I'll make up some rules and hide them throughout the trail.

Oh heck, I'll throw you a rule or three right now:

1.  No spoilers.  There will be clues along the way, and I want people to figure them out on their own.
2.  Check back often.  Some links will slowly fade until they are invisible, so you have to check back often enough that you don't miss them.  Otherwise you may have a hard time!
3.  Feel free to tell people about the Secret Link Trail.  Just don't tell them where this page is.

Ok, fine.  Some real rules.

4.  The secret link trail will begin, somewhere on this website.  It will be your task to find out where the next link is.  (If you got to this page, you probably found the first clue, the "wtf?" link)
5.  The link trail will require some familiarity with DirectX and the tutorial.
6.  I will not inform you directly of new rules or rule changes.  They will be hinted at throughout the trail.  If you are good enough, you might just find hidden RSS links, each of which will inform you of some of the rule changes.
7.  Don't even bother trying to brute-force your way through the link trail.  It simply won't work.
8.  Finding the next hidden link will take patience and cleverness.  The links will always take you to some random webpage on the Internet that will seem to have no relevance whatsoever.
9.  Some websites change unexpectedly.  Hey, it's not my fault.  (hint hint!)
10.  Beware of false trails!
11.  The real trail will consist of links both in this website and on other websites.  If you have a website and want to participate, e-mail me.

Anyway, that's it for now I guess.  At this point I've already given you enough information to start searching for the second link.  So, off you go!  Find the links and find the end of the trail!

Oh, one last note: read the news on the front page periodically.  It helps.

Bwahaha!  I like being mysterious! >:)
